Pricing & booking
How much does a man and van cost in Ponteland?
For one man and a van, single-item moves are typically £40–£60 locally (up to 10 miles), a 1-bed flat move is around £140–£180, and a 2-bed house move is around £140–£240 depending on distance. Want the full team for a house move? Simply double those guide prices. We always confirm a fixed quote before we start.
How do I get a quote?
Call or text 07355 711 600, or use our quote form with your collection and delivery postcodes, the date and what you're moving. We usually reply within the hour with a clear, fixed price.
Do you charge for quotes or call-outs?
No. Quotes are completely free and there's no obligation. You only pay if you decide to go ahead with the move.
How do I pay?
We accept bank transfer and cash. Payment is taken on completion of the job, once you're happy everything is where it should be.
On the day
Can you help load and unload?
Yes — that's the whole point of a man and van. We carry, load, secure, transport and unload everything for you. You don't need to lift a thing unless you want to lend a hand.
Do you offer same-day moves?
Often, yes. If you call early in the day we can frequently fit in a same-day collection or move, subject to availability. It's always worth a quick call.
What if it rains on moving day?
We move in all weathers. We carry covers and blankets to keep your belongings dry and protected, and we'll lay floor protection at both ends if needed.
Will you disassemble and reassemble furniture?
Yes, we can take apart and rebuild beds, wardrobes and flat-pack furniture as part of the move. Just let us know in advance so we bring the right tools and allow time.
What we move
Can you move a sofa or other single item?
Absolutely. Single-item removals are one of our most popular services — sofas, beds, fridges, wardrobes, white goods and more, collected and delivered with care.
Do you collect from IKEA, shops or Marketplace sellers?
Yes. We regularly collect from IKEA, furniture shops, warehouses and eBay or Facebook Marketplace sellers and deliver to your door, often same day.
Can you move pianos or very heavy items?
We can move most upright pianos and heavy items with two crew and the right equipment. Tell us the item and the access at both ends and we'll confirm.
Is there anything you won't move?
For safety and legal reasons we can't transport hazardous materials, such as fuels, chemicals or certain waste types. If in doubt, just ask.
Coverage & licensing
Are you a licensed waste carrier?
Yes. We're a registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency, so we can legally collect, transport and dispose of unwanted items — handy for house clearances — and we always handle your belongings with real care.
Which areas do you cover?
We're based in Ponteland and cover Darras Hall, Newcastle, Gosforth, Jesmond, Kingston Park, Kenton, Westerhope, Cramlington, Morpeth, Bedlington, Prudhoe, Hexham and the wider Northumberland area. We also do long-distance moves across the UK.
Do you do long-distance moves?
Yes. As well as local work we handle long-distance moves from the North East to anywhere in the UK, charged at a fair per-mile rate on top of the loading time.
How far in advance should I book?
For house moves, a few days' notice is ideal, especially around weekends and month-end. For single items and collections we can often help at short notice, including same day.
