Morpeth is the historic county town of Northumberland, an attractive market town on the River Wansbeck that we are proud to serve. Our man and van handles house moves, furniture deliveries, single items and same-day collections in and around Morpeth, with the care and local knowledge that a town of period properties and riverside streets deserves.

About Morpeth

Morpeth has been a market town since the Middle Ages, granted its market charter in the thirteenth century, and the curfew bell still rings from its distinctive clock tower in the town centre. Its history is bound up with the River Wansbeck, the castle whose remains overlook the town, and its role as the administrative heart of Northumberland. The town is also remembered as the home of the suffragette Emily Wilding Davison, who is buried in St Mary's churchyard. Today Morpeth combines a well-preserved historic centre — complete with its bridges, riverside walks and Carlisle Park — with newer housing on its fringes, and it remains one of the most desirable towns in the county.

Local moving know-how in Morpeth

Morpeth's historic centre brings narrow streets, limited parking and one-way systems around the market place and bridges, so local knowledge really pays. We plan collections in the town centre to find safe, legal loading spots and to avoid market days and peak congestion. The riverside and older residential streets can have tight access, while the newer estates on the edges of town offer easier parking and driveways. With the A1 running close by, onward moves to Newcastle, Ashington or further afield get going quickly. We know Morpeth well and plan each job around its quirks.
